Louie (aka: lou-boy, lou)
Therapy Dog In Training
Hi there! I’m Louie, the Therapy Pup in Training here at Restorative Pathways. I’m a “Double Doodle” - a fun combination of Poodle, Labrador Retriever, and Golden Retriever. Because of my curly, poodle coat, I don’t shed and I’m hypoallergenic! You might also call me the ultimate cuddler, joy giver, or best distractor. I am here to help you feel more at ease in our office and to bring a smile to your face with all my goofy antics.
cuddles
Did you know that therapy dogs are known to reduce blood pressure? I LOVE cuddling and getting all the pets. When you come in to the office, I’ll be more than happy to sit with you and love on you while you work with your therapist.
joy
I have quite the pup personality. I can be found zooming around with energy, flopping to the ground, jumping off furniture to pounce on toys, providing puppy kisses, and doing tricks that I’m learning in training. My mom says it’s hard not to smile when you see me.
distraction
Therapy can be really hard. You’re talking about tough things and sometimes a light distraction can make that a little easier. It’s my pleasure to provide a fluffy, playful distraction while you chat or think. I love playing fetch and tug-of-war, getting treats, doing tricks, or just sitting there to be petted to provide whatever level of distraction you’re needing in the moment.
how i help
I am here to help your experience of coming into our office a little bit more enjoyable. I’m frequently found looking out the windows of the office and greeting clients as they come in. Don’t see me? I’m probably in a session. Want me to join you in your session? Just ask your clinician if I’m around.
more about me
When I’m not here in the office you can find me hanging out with my mom and dad. I’m likely going on drives with my head out the window, going on long walks where I can do all the sniffing, playing with my toys, or chewing on one of my favorite bones. I’ve finished my puppy level 2 course and I’m currently working through my Canine Good Citizen course. One day, I will officially be a certified Therapy Dog.
